Six Sic Sick

The book of Revelation was written about A.D. 90-96 by (probably) the apostle John. The following is an excerpt from Chapter 13 taken from the New International Version.

And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from the heaven to earth in full view of men.
Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth.
He ordered them to set up an image in honour of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived.
He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.
He also forced everyone, small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on his right hand or on his forehead, so that no one could buy or sell unless he had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of his name.
This call for wisdom.
If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666.

Revelation 13:13-18

So what could the beast be? Since it is written that the beast has a number which is man's number ~ we take the number Six given that it is man's number (read Genesis 1:26-31). We use the number as a constant to multiply with the position of the 26 alphabets to give each alphabet a weight such that A=6, B=12, C=18 and so on (let's just say the alphabet set is created by man inspired by God). Thus by adding the weights of a word or sentence, we come up with a figure that might indicate what the beast or its manifestation may be.

This method has many grey areas that are open for debate which are not printed here. We let you conclude on the method and our (selected) results..

Words, names having weights totalling 666

Interesting words or names having weights totalling 444
Other interesting words or names..
Pseudo codes for creating a character counting program

initialize weight counter to 0
read string input as UPPER CASE ONLY
step through every character
ignore spaces and all non alpha-characters i.e. ASCII value of characters not between 65 and 90
subtract 64 from ASCII value of character, then multiply by 6 and add to weight
(subtract 96 for lower case characters)
display weight at end
